Many moves have hand signs to complement the calls; these are useful in noisy venues, where spoken calls might not be easily heard.

Rather than executing fixed patterns, leaders improvise their own dance--every step is led. It is danced in both open and close embrace but most find that communication between the partners is easier in a close embrace. Check www.tangoindy.com for additional info.
